Dear PHA Members and Friends
Phoenix Holocaust Association hopes you plan to attend Yom HaShoah on Sunday, May 5 as well as the Reading of the Names on Monday, May 6. Both of those events are at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus (Scottsdale Road and Sweetwater). On Tuesday, May 7 at 7 pm, we are sponsoring a documentary film entitled Four Winters: A Story of Jewish Partisans Resistance and Bravery in WW2. I am looking forward to seeing this film as there has not been very much exposure to this aspect of resistance during the Holocaust. This story is personal for me. My father and his brothers were partisans and lived and fought in the woods outside of Lublin, Poland for two and a half years.
I hope many, many people will see Fiddler on the Roof at the Phoenix Theatre, on June 2nd for Community Night. Phoenix Holocaust Association has been selected as the company’s charity for June! Please scroll down to purchase your tickets at any rate that is comfortable for you. On Sunday, June 23 (1:30 pm), PHA will host local survivors (and their drivers) for a performance of the show. Tickets are provided by the Claims Conference for them on that day.
I am looking forward to seeing you at some or all of the planned Yom HaShoah events May 5-7 and/or the May Café Europa luncheon. Your participation is vital to our organization.
Best regards,
Sheryl Bronkesh, President
