  President's Letter

Hello Friends and Happy Holidays!!!

So excited to see everyone at our Holiday Membership Gathering this Saturday, December 9th, 11:30am, at Trattoria Uliveto in Old Orcutt! Sara Macdonald, Chairperson of our Women’s Healthcare Committee has secured an excellent speaker for us – Marina Owen, CEO of CenCal Health, which contracts with the State to administer Medi-Cal benefits through local care providers in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

Ms. Owen will be speaking about her experiences in healthcare and the challenges of providing quality healthcare for women. Several healthcare professionals from our Women’s Healthcare Committee will also be in attendance, making the focus so appropriate in the season of kindness and care for all women!

As an added bonus, Savie Healthcare has offered LWVSMV members and guests an opportunity to spread joy even further by bringing a new or gently used unwrapped toy for passing on to their clients this season. You can choose the age group, from toddler to middle school and either boy or girl. Let’s give those kids some neat treats. Savie Healthcare provides medical services in Lompoc fully without charge all year long to those without health insurance. Unbelievably kind in a world that seems to be all about money.

Don’t delay! RSVP today and join us for Good Food and Good Company! (Tickets are on a sliding scale and scholarships are available by clicking here.)

Psst….You won't want to miss the sneak preview we'll be sharing at the Holiday Gathering. We hit the ground running in January with program planning and March primary! Wow!

Will YOU be with us? Join us here.

Keep smiling and remember….Vote Local….Your Vote Counts More!

Sincerely,

Virginia
