This Saturday, May 4th, please join us at Just Love Coffee Café between 11am-3pm! They will be donating back 15% of the proceeds to SSR PTA. This is a great way to support our school AND a SSR family owned business.

Dear Sunset Ridge Families,

We're in the home stretch! Some key dates:

* Teacher Appreciation Week May 6-10

* If you have input for class placement, please fill out this form before May 10th

* The N'achos band concert on the lawn - May 17th, 5:00 - 8:00

* 4th grade graduation - Friday, June 7th from 8:00 - 8:45

And, when talking with some families, I was encouraged to share a few of these resources, especially as we learn how to parent in the "age of screens." Jonathan Haidt is out with a new book - The Anxious Generation - How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness. You can find lots of interviews and summaries of the key points of the book online.

And, while not specifically endorsing a product, my family uses Eero, which is a combination of WiFi router(s), monitoring tools, and restricting tools. So, we can set screen access for all of the devices that use the WiFi. For example, all devices in the house shut down for dinner, and our son can only have access to certain devices during certain windows of time that we set. I find it to be nice for avoiding arguments, participating in device-free activities, and more.

If you're looking for something that can be a shared screen-based but also learning opportunity, I'd recommend Veritasium.
