Registration Open for Coastal Promise Humanitarian Simulation, July 12-14, 2024, Garrett County, MD, USA

Registration is now open for the 2024 Coastal Promise Humanitarian Simulation to be held in Garrett County, MD, July 12-14, 2024. Nearly 300 students have participated in past field simulations. For information about past exercises, read herehere, here.

Coastal Promise is a full-scale three-day field simulation that recreates the challenges and conditions professionals encounter in complex emergencies characterized by conflict, disaster, and humanitarian need. During the event, participants, acting as members of a non-governmental organization, engage in intensive negotiations, humanitarian assistance, peacebuilding assessment, and advocacy as part of a scenario based on a realistic conflict or humanitarian crisis.

To attend the event, applicants must have completed an undergraduate bachelor's degree and be currently enrolled in a graduate level program (master's, grad certificate, or doctoral). It is recommended (but not required) that applicants either currently work in an area where humanitarian, emergency management, global health, conflict resolution, or peacebuilding skills are demanded or are interested in these areas professionally. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be a U.S. citizen or foreign national in the U.S. with a green card or visa, and be up to date on all COVID-19 vaccinations including boosters.

Registration closes June 14. To register and learn more about the exercise, go to the link below.
