DCCA Continues to Voice Concerns to the DC Government Regarding Support for the Homeless
DCCA has weighed in with the DC government concerning the impact of the public health crisis on the homeless and the proliferation of encampments in the city.

District Updates on COVID-19
The DC Government continues to update its COVID-19 website with news releases, data on testing, hospital capacity in the District and other information. Visit coronavirus.dc.gov.

  • Mayor Bowser's May 13th Coronavirus Situational Report extends the Stay At Home order until June 8th and outlines the metrics that need to be met before shifting toward re-opening.

  • The report also includes information about a pilot granting waivers to educational and academic retail shops to do curbside and front door pickup as well as ways that SNAP benefits can be used online through Amazon.

At-Large DC Council Candidates Forum
DC Tenants Advocacy Coalition (TENAC) is holding an online Candidates Forum for the candidates for the At Large DC Council seats.

Candidates will be asked their positions on issues critical to affordable housing, tenants' and rent control. The forum will be held on Monday May 18 from 6:00 to 6:45 PM.

Online Comedy Show
Prior to the Stay At Home directive, DCCA had been planning to host a comedy show. We hope to pick up that planning when the time is right.

The featured comedian, Robert Mac, is now doing virtual comedy shows every Saturday in May starting at 8pm.

Cost is $5 for an individual and $10 for a group. Part of the proceeds go to support a local food bank. Tickets and info can be found here.
