The end of the year offers an incredible opportunity to reflect on what truly matters — and to invest in a brighter tomorrow. At Generations United, we're dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, older adults, and grandfamilies and creating a world where people of all ages can thrive.

As we gear up to launch our transformative three-year strategic plan, your support has never been more critical. By contributing today, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping initiatives that promote intergenerational connection, understanding, and well-being.

And here's the best part: Every donation made by December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our Board of Directors. That means your impact will be doubled, making your generosity go even further.

No gift is too small to make a difference. Together, let's create a future where every generation is empowered and supported. Donate today!

New Outreach Learning Community Toolkit

From April 2024 to September 2024, our partners at ZERO TO THREE and the National Caucus and Center on Black Aging (NCBA) held a five-session learning community devoted to sharing outreach strategies for connecting with and supporting kinship/grandfamilies. After the conclusion of the learning community, we worked together to prepare a toolkit to share the learning more widely. This page links to the five pieces of the toolkit.

Accepting Requests for Assistance

As always, the Network is accepting individual requests for assistance from professionals who work in systems or organizations that serve kinship/grandfamilies. Fill out the request assistance form to receive support from our team. Learn more and sign up to access our resources!

The Network is supported by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $9,950,000 with 95 percentage funded by ACL/HHS and $523,684 and 5 percentage funded by non-government sources. The contents are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement, by ACL/HHS, or the U.S. Government.

Intergenerational Spotlight

Pride Intergenerational Housing Program

A new Pride Intergenerational Housing Program in Western Australia will bridge generations to combat loneliness. The program will match older LGBTQIA+ people with LGBTQIA+ students, particularly those from non-English speaking countries. GRAI (GLBTI Rights in Aging Inc.) will act as matching service that will link the needs and preferences of both older LGBTI people and LGBTIQA+ students. Once a mutually beneficial and appropriate housing match has been formed, GRAI will continue to check-in with both parties as a third-party support. The 18- month pilot is coordinated by GRAI and funded by a Lotterywest grant. Read more about the Pride Intergenerational Housing Program here.

Each issue, Generations United is spotlighting a recipient of our Intergenerational Program Certification or a program highlighted in our Shared Site Learning Network newsletter. The certification is an annual recognition of outstanding programs bringing older and younger participants together and is based on rigorous standards of program effectiveness and sustainability. Learn more about the Intergenerational Program Certification here.
