Ceremony Updates & Reminders:

• Seniors - You will receive honor cords and certificates if you notified us that you are a senior (deadline is passed), RSVP, and attend.

• New Members - Please RSVP! If you went through summer training last year and would like to be formally inducted at this spring ceremony, please let us know by putting the word "SUMMER" next to your name in your RSVP. Then, we will add your name to the induction list and graduation pamphlet!

• Award Recipients - We will be notifying award winners soon! Also...RSVP!

ALL YOUTH COURT MEMBERS AND FAMILIES ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND!

This event is not just for those listed above. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

A Solemn Farewell

Dear Ontario County Youth Court Members,

It's with a heavy heart that I must inform you that, effective April 18th, 2024, I will be resigning from my position as Raise the Age Program Coordinator at Ontario County Youth Court. I will be leaving in pursuit of a Program Manager position that was recently offered to me.

While I'm excited for this new opportunity, I'm saddened at the thought of those I must leave behind. Ontario County Youth Court has been more than just a steppingstone in my professional career; it has been my passion. Each of you has contributed to making my time in this program the most profound and rewarding chapter in my life.

The Restorative Justice work we do is immeasurable in importance to the community and that work is never done. Always remember that every time you step into that courtroom, you are making a valuable impact and a positive change in that respondent's life. They will remember it for the rest of their life, just as I will my time with this program.

I'm very proud to have met you all, and I look forward to seeing what each of you great leaders will accomplish in your bright future ahead of you.

Thank you for giving me the chance to be your Program Coordinator. I will never forget this opportunity.

Applications will go out May 1st for anyone who is interested!

Who are the Steering Committee?

• Leaders of Ontario County Youth Court
• Help drive the decisions of Youth Court
• Plan and attend events/fundraisers
• Propose and implement new program ideas
• Propose new program goals
• Participate in annual new member trainings
• Attend regular program meetings and info sessions
• Advocate for fellow Youth Court Members
• Be the voice of your fellow Youth Court Members

Going Forward, Everybody Signing Up on the Court Calendar...

PLEASE BE DILIGENT IN REMOVING YOUR NAME IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND A DATE

Over the past few months, we have had a number of sign-ups that have left us scratching our heads and wondering whether they will show up.

If your name is on the list, we are counting on you to be there!

We completely understand that schedules change and things come up! If that's ever the case, even if it's last-minute, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR NAME FROM THE COURT CALENDAR ASAP. This saves Youth Court staff a lot of time, guesswork, and resources.

• We don't always see your texts or emails in time. While we appreciate the courtesy of you notifying us, removing your name is the best way for us to know you won't be there. Feel free to follow-up with us after you have removed your name.

• If you think you will be late, make note of that next to your name. We can't guarantee we can always wait for you, but knowing you are on your way really helps. If you have an ETA, let us know!

• Everything we do relies on an accurate headcount. Anything from fundraiser participation and parties to the court room, we need to know who and how many will be there so we can plan accordingly.

You are the reason we can do what we do. If you won't be there, we want to know that, too!
