SEASON'S GREETINGS!

December 11, 2024

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR CORNER

A few things to inform you about

Season’s Greeting NFJG Foundation and Tour Members,

Already it’s been a very busy season and as we move towards the holidays the fast pace continues with two major JUNIOR PLAYERS TOUR events. First up is the “KING AND BEAR OPEN” on December 29 & 30th at the World Golf Village and then after that to kick off the New Year it’s the "FIRST COAST JUNIOR AMATEUR" at Jax Beach. Each of these two events is recognized by the Florida Junior Tour (FJT) and the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) with exemptions and PBE Stars. In addition, the top two finishers for the boys at the FCJA will receive a fully paid exempted entry into the Jacksonville Area Golf Association (JAGA) “FIRST COAST AMATEUR” where the two players will compete against some of the top collegiate players in the nation. The top two girls receive fully paid exempted entries into the “FIRST COAST WOMEN’S AMATEUR”. These are two of the finest amateur events around. It’s tough to beat that.

I would also like to remind our members that the NFJGTOUR staff is watching all our players on tour as the Staff will recommend players to fill spots on the FLORIDA COAST RYDER CUP TEAM. The team selection will be complete by the end of February. Performance from last season and this season will be up for review as we aim to put a winning team together to retain the cup. The NFJGTOUR is up 3-2 in this contest. This year we travel to Hollybrook, Florida to defend the title.

Finally, I would like to inform you about an exciting event to help raise dollars for the FLORIDA COAST CUP TEAM and the 2025 FSGA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM. The event is called the 50/50 CHALLENGE. I would like to invite all juniors and parents to host 50/50 raffles at their host club between December 16, 2024 and January 30, 2025. Host one, two or even 10 events to climb up the leaderboard, which will be showcased weekly. Top winners will receive complimentary entries into future NFJGTOUR events. Many prizes will be given away (based on participation). All you need to do is get permission from the Club Pro and stand on the tee box selling chances into the 50/50 drawing. I have hosted a 50/50 drawing every Saturday morning at Windy Harbor Golf Club and we are already up to over $1,600. No worries, I am not in the race. Let me know if you are interested and we’ll go on from there. I’ll explain as we go.

Don't forget to get your tickets to THE PLAYERS Championship early. See below for details.

Happy Holidays!

Jack Aschenbach, PGA

SAND BOTTLES

Although parents, staff and players have done a great job in the past seasons filling divots and caring for courses we have the privilege to play, this season and beyond we will be improving our efforts by requiring all junior players to carry a sand bottle to fill divots immediately after they hit their shots. By doing this we feel the junior player will have more of the responsibility to care for the course.

Failure to fill divots can and will result in warning, penalty and or disqualification. Thanks for doing your part.
