COSA discusses Food Insecurity today on Zoom at 10am.

COSA is excited to host a panel on the changing landscape of food insecurity in Western Massachusetts by hosting speakers representing a ladder of services. From direct on the ground work, to regional approaches, to the federal response, they will discuss both the increasing need as well as novel solutions. Our special guests include:

  • Lev BenEzra from Amherst Survival Center
  • Christina Maxwell from the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts
  • Koby Gardner-Levine from the Office of Congressman Jim McGovern
  • Rachel Klein from the Office of Senator Jo Comerford

The UMass Amherst College of Education Center for Education Policy is holding a civic summit on Tuesday, March 12 regarding the MCAS graduation requirement. The event will include a lively discussion including a mock "vote" on the measure before and after hearing from invited speakers.
