Trump is bad at being human. He has chosen instead to be a master at blaming everyone but himself for his problems, and performing the same cheap trick for his followers. You and I are the same, he tells them. We live in Hell, and all the blame lies with people who are not like us.

If they don't look like us, act like us, speak like us, date like us, shop like us, worship like us... they are other. And other is bad! Other is ridiculous, alien, ugly, probably illegal, definitely evil. Other must be punished or banned or deported.

We don't see it like that.

In the America we fight for, diversity of all kinds is our greatest strength. In fact, it defines our unique identity as a nation. From that diversity comes new languages, ideas, foods, new art, music, science, new ways to love the world and ourselves and each other. It expands our souls, makes us better humans, and makes America the most vibrant, beautiful, powerful nation in history.

In that America, we don't hate and fear the other. Because there is no other.

We fight for the people least like us. Because we fight for America.

We were inspired and re-energized by keynote speakers like Robert Hubbell, Leigh McGowan, Jessica Craven and Lorena Gonzalez. We were stoked to lay out our rock-solid strategy for winning bigly in 2024. And we're so thankful for all our panelists, moderators, special guests, video shout-outs, and everyone who helped out or turned out to make it a rousing success.

We are so grateful to Dina and the whole Bake Back Better team – every donor, baker, and driver. This year’s cupcakes brought in $10,150 from 157 donors – 125 deliveries and 500 cupcakes baked and packed – a big jump over last year's campaign.This money goes directly to the Field Team 6 work to register more Democrats in swing states: buying data, sending texts and emails, paying for data storage, and more!

GOOD NEWS, MORE GOOD NEWS, AND EVEN MORE GOOD NEWS RE: EMAILS!

Good news: emails are an extremely effective method of registering Democrats and they're surprisingly cheap to send (just a half cent each!). More good news: our partner and data firm (and Summit 2024 presenting sponsor) Civitech has new email data on unregistered likely Democrats in our target states.

Even more good news! We’ve already raised the dollars needed for North Carolina and Montana email data and outreach, so we’re turning the spotlight next onto Michigan. We just need to raise $14,635 to buy 106,051 records with emails, and another $796 to email them twice.

Our 2022 Impact Report proves that emails really do work. In 2022, Field Team 6 reached out to 5 million unregistered, likely Democrats. Nearly one in three registered as blue or purple voters (Democrats, independent or unaffiliated (in the states that don’t report party)) and emails were boffo yields!

Just think. Half a cent. If one in three of these 106,000 Michiganders register to vote, we could add about 35,000 new blue or purple voters to the rolls before November! Donate to this worthy cause HERE.

TODAY, MARCH 28: BYOP TEXTING IS EN FUEGO!

"BYOP" means Bring Your Own Phone and it's a free texting platform developed by our own genius volunteers, led now by coding wizard Alicia. All it takes is a laptop and a Google Voice number (or Apple's "Messages" app), and one training session. Just one! And here's the thing: texting is a super effective way to register new Democrats... but it's expensive as heck. Free BYOP texting is the solution! Especially when hordes of volunteers swoop in to help!

And you are! We were averaging xxx texts a month last year. In January we sent xxx. In February we sent xxx. Last week we sent xxx! It’s happening!

Our postcarding program is three years old this month, so it's officially a voter registration toddler! (They grow up so fast... sigh.) Many thanks to Sharon, our Postcarding Team Lead, and the patient answerer of the most questions! Volunteers and partners have written 1.8 million postcards to date! Wowsa!

Postcarding is an excellent way to register new voters, and the Field Team 6 postcards are extra special, because they're designed by Shepard Fairey (best known for the Obama "Hope" poster in 2008), James McMullan (illustrator of kids books, Broadway posters and New Yorker magazine covers), and more!
