A Letter To Our Community

Sean Barclay, TCPUD General Manager

Dear Community,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. During this time of year, I am reminded of how important gratitude is, and I want to thank you for your continued trust in the Tahoe City Public Utility District. Being able to serve this incredible community is a responsibility and a privilege. On behalf of our entire team, we remain committed to earning your trust every day through our unwavering dedication to transparency, reliability, and service.

Reflecting on 2024, I’m proud of the work we’ve done to provide you with reliable, year-round water and sewer services and outstanding recreation opportunities. Our Utilities, Engineering, Parks & Recreation, and Administration staff worked around the clock to respond to water and sewer emergencies, maintain our recreation facilities, build capital projects, provide excellent customer service, and much more. Our dedication to this community is guided by the thoughtful direction of our Board of Directors.

The re-election of all three incumbent Board members this past November is a testament to the trust our community has in their stewardship of TCPUD’s mission. Over the past year, the Board has faced challenging and complex decisions. These decisions required them to balance needed infrastructure investments with financial demands that have an undeniable impact on our customers. I remain grateful for their leadership and service to this community.

The Board has also played an instrumental role in instilling a culture of accountability and service at TCPUD. I am proud of the culture we have built – a culture where every member of our team takes pride in doing what is right. Even when faced with challenges, we remain committed to our Core Values and our Vision of building a healthy mountain community, for today and into the future.

Looking ahead to 2025, we will be making significant investments to rebuild and upgrade infrastructure. These investments will improve drinking water reliability and enhance firefighting capacity, improve sewer system safety and redundancy, and improve recreation amenities like the golf course and the multi-use trail system.

TCPUD proudly serves this community, and every decision we make is guided by our responsibility to you — our customers. Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your engagement.

If you have questions, suggestions, or ideas, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at info@tcpud.org or call 530-583-3796.

Together, we will ensure a vibrant and sustainable future for our mountain community.

Yours in Service,

Sean Barclay
