Spring looks to have finally sprung! Sask 1stCall has been working on many updates to help this upcoming digging season be a safe and successful one and April's Dig Safe month is the perfect time to share them.

Two of the major updates we have prepared for this digging season make submitting your locate request online much more user-friendly:

The site now offers a refreshed and easier-to-navigate access point for those curious about the process of requesting a line locate, and the subscribing companies of Sask 1st Call. The new site also connects to the SCGA's website and shares many of the great resources SCGA offers.

A new dashboard makes it simpler to request your locate online, and there have also been upgrades to the mapping, making it easier to draw your dig site.

Please remember, there are several Live Chat agents available to answer your questions and help you complete the process.

Sask 1st Call is excited to join the SCGA to travel across the province for the annual Dig Safe Awareness Breakfast program. As Director of Sask 1st Call I will be in attendance at a number of the locations, looking forward to meeting new faces and to talk Dig Safe.

At the SCGA we often hear "what can I share at a safety meeting" or “what is a good topic to discuss during our tailgate meetings”?

The SCGA has a number of made in Saskatchewan videos prepared for anyone’s use, why not check out the SCGA - YouTube channel and choose a playlist! There is great content for any safety related meetings.

GROUND DISTURBANCE FOR SK WORKERS

If you know someone preparing for a job in construction or utilities they can become a better candidate with the Ground Disturbance for SK Workers course.  It's free thanks to our sponsors and program champion.

We encourage those aged 14-21 to give it a try but anyone can benefit from taking the course.

One of the SCGA’s key initiatives is to get in front of the youth of our province to be sure that they are aware of careers in the industry, as well as making them aware of the importance of safe digging — so we can change that behaviour over time and reduce future damage to buried infrastructure.
