First Quarter 2024

DONOR INSIGHTS

A Note from Traci Hiatt,

Director of Philanthropy

I hope that you've enjoyed the winter and that 2024 is off to a great start.

I'm excited to share with you our first "Donor Insights" newsletter. You are receiving this as a fund advisor or supporter of YVCF. Hopefully you find this information interesting and informative.

I will be sending correspondence out quarterly, including updates from our investment management firm Syntrinsic, giving tips, community information and more.

If you'd like to be taken off this distribution list, rather than unsubscribing, please send me an email and I will take you off of this list but you will still be able to receive other communications from YVCF in the future.

Thanks for your incredible support in 2023, where we set new benchmarks for grantmaking, community building and partnerships, collaboration with and support for our valley's nonprofits, and building stronger relationships with philanthropists like you.

We look forward to continuing this momentum in the year ahead!

YVCF Adopts Anti-Hate Policy

The Yampa Valley Community Foundation believes that philanthropy should always be a force for good. With the rise in levels of hate and anti-democratic extremism nationally, we felt it important to state unequivocally that we will not process grants to any organization that supports or engages in hateful activities. While an internal review of historical grants shows no evidence of such granting, YVCF's Board of Trustees has adopted an Anti-Hate Policy to ensure that our funds are not supporting hateful activities, which are contrary to YVCF’s mission and charitable purpose.

Read the Policy

“Hateful activities” are defined to mean activities that incite or engage in violence, intimidation, harassment, threats or defamation targeting an individual or group based on their actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.
