A day of celebration, education, support, and networking among family caregivers, and care partners across the lifespan.

2024 Transition to Adulthood Training

We are passing this along for our partners in the Children's Developmental Disabilities program.

Over the course of 2024 the Children's Developmental Disabilities Program will be hosting a recurring meeting each month as an overview about the process of transitioning your child from the children's disability world to all things adulthood! Topics will be covered relating to school services, social security benefits, adult developmental disability services, Medicaid benefits, Guardianship, employment, and so much more. Each training will be approximately 1-2 hours long. Each meeting is also standalone.

VA Teacher Annie Ray wins Grammy Award

Grammy Awards don't only go to the people who produce and perform songs. For just over a decade, they've also been given out to those who teach others how to make music.

The Music Educator Award, presented by the Recording Academy and Grammy Museum, recognizes those who have made a "significant contribution and demonstrate a commitment to music education."

This year it went to Annie Ray, the performing arts department chair and orchestra director at Annandale High School in Fairfax County, Virginia. She was honored for her efforts to make music accessible to all students, particularly those with disabilities.
