Community Updates

volunteers with Splunk participated in a stream cleanup on July 14 2023

Thank you volunteers at SPLUNK who took part in a cleanup at Barcroft Park/Four Mile Run on Friday, July 14. This group collected two bags of trash. That's 59 gallons of trash prevented from getting into our waterways!

EcoAction Arlington and Energy Masters was at Jennie Dean Park on Friday, July 28 for the Nestle Day of Service. We had an awesome time presenting energy and water conservation tips as well as providing an overview of EcoAction Arlington volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Thank You for Attending Our Leadership Breakfast

On Friday July 21, we had an amazing opportunity to gather with some of our most committed donors, volunteers, and stakeholders at our first Leadership Breakfast, hosted at the Clubhouse at Placemakr in Ballston. We were able to mix and mingle and discuss EcoAction Arlington’s strategic direction with an overview of our latest strategic vision for the organization for 2023 to 2025. Thanks to all of you whose schedule allowed you to join us. We hope to host similar events in the near future.

A great small neighborhood in North Arlington nestled between Langston Blvd. and N Glebe Road. It is mainly residential with a handful of cafes and businesses. It is very bikeable with a Bike Score of 77%. The neighborhood is adjacent to Slater Park and Langston-Brown Community Center and Park. Glebewood has about 29% tree coverage according to a recent Green Infrastructure Center Study sponsored by the Arlington County Civic Federation.
