Message from the Executive Director

As we come to the end of 2023, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for being part of a wonderful year here at RTCC. We have held and supported 15 events with more than 600 attendees, including RTCC’s own Cleantech Catalyst and Cleantech Spotlight series, our signature Cleantech Innovation Awards, and exciting partner events serving 1000+ additional people.

We held our inaugural Cleantech Entrepreneurship Energizer, bringing together 65 cleantech entrepreneurs, funders, industry leaders, government officials, supporting organizations, and technology experts to identify ways we can work together to accelerate cleantech innovation and entrepreneurship here in North Carolina.

For the second year, we served as the regional conveners for the U.S. Department of Energy’s EnergyTech University Prize competition, in which students teams identify a promising energy technology, assess its market potential, and pitch a strategy for commercialization of the product (check out the 2024 competition!).

We relaunched our Cleantech Connect Career Fair, Advisory Council, Programs and Communications Action Committee, and Talent Action Committee, all of which help RTCC advance the cleantech ecosystem through our programs, communications, and workforce efforts.

As we look to 2024, we are excited to bring you more great programming and opportunities to connect with members of our cleantech community, as we continue to support your efforts to recruit and retain the talent you need to create and deploy innovative clean technologies for our shared future.

- Dr. Deb Wojcik
