Dear Parents,
This was an exciting week at Kids For Kids Academy. We received a call on Thursday that the USDA has chosen 2 preschools in Florida to be recognized for their exemplary commitment to healthy eating and their Farm to Table Garden Programs. Above is the certificate we received. If we are the school that is chosen as the #1 school, we will get a site visit from USDA staff this coming Wednesday. Fingers crossed...
Also this week we received a room of full boxes this week so we had to close the lab for one morning. In the boxes are $40,000 in new curriculum we received on a grant. Our staff will be trained in April on the Frogstreet curriculum. We loved it since it interfaces with Conscious Discipline. That is the self regulation program our staff is trained on.
We are on the process of forming our fall classes. As our new starting age will be 2, it will mean that some of our students will remain with their current teachers for next year which is great for continuity of care. Rest assured, they will not be repeated what they learned this year as all classes will have the new curriculum that is grouped by age. As soon as the classes are set you will know what class your child will be in starting June.
For those of you returning for fall, you will see the first of 3 $80 registration installments billed to your account. For those staying for Kindergarten, many of you already paid the first installment.
You may have seen the flyers up regarding our April 3rd Spring Egg Hunt. Families are asked to please send in a dozen plastic eggs filled with NON CANDY ITEMS. Fruit snacks, goldfish, and little toys or stickers are fine. PLEASE TAPE THE EGGS SHUT to avoid spillage on the playground. Please note the time for your child on the flyer below as up to 2 guests are invited to participate. If you wish to participate, please arrive 10 minutes early to help hide the eggs.
Finally, next week Miami Dade Schools is closed for Spring Break. We are open our regular hours. Kids in VPK and our K-2 program who do not attend will not be marked absent as it is a non-instructional week.
We will be CLOSED on Friday, March 29th in observance of Good Friday.
