"Inspiring students to love God, their Catholic faith and learning"

As the temperatures start to drop, please be mindful and send your student(s) to school dressed appropriately for the weather. When sending coats/pullovers, hats, and gloves, be sure to put your student's name on the tag so it does not get mistaken for someone else's. Daylight savings is Sunday, November 5th. There will be no shorts allowed from November 5, 2023 to March 10, 2024.

September Students of the Month at Helias were two of our St. Peter alumni: Joseph Jones and Isaac Dudenhoeffer! Congratulations!

Did you know that in our country, compared to 60 years ago, there are 20,000 fewer priests and 129,000 fewer religious sisters? At the same time, the Catholic population has grown steadily. During Vocation Awareness Week, please pray that young people in today's society will hear and respond to God's call. And do your part to encourage them to consider the priesthood and consecrated life. Vocation Awareness Week starts November 5th.

Just a friendly reminder that the Saturday Vigil Mass will switch to 4:30PM beginning this Saturday, November 4, 2023. Also don't forget to set your clocks back on Sunday, November 5, 2023 or you will be really late for Mass!

Meet Our Staff

My name is Mrs. Moore. This is my third year teaching 5th grade. My first year teaching I taught at St. Brendan in Mexico, Missouri. I'm very thankful to be on my second year here at St. Peter. St. Peter's Catholic Church has been my home parish since I was born. I taught PSR (Public School Religion) at St. Peter in past years with my mom. Now I sub for PSR. I received my Associates degree in teaching at State Fair Community College and then my Bachelors degree at the University of Central Missouri. My husband and I are happy to announce that our family will be growing and it won't be us and our two dogs much longer. Coming in May we are expecting a little one of our own.

Dear St. Peter Families,

As a school, we are again participating in the Box of Joy Program sponsored by Cross Catholic Outreach.  There are three different ways you can support our goal of sending 200 boxes to children in Haiti, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

  1. Each grade level has signed up to gather specific items from the Gift List.  Families can donate items per grade level.  Click HERE to view your child’s suggested gift list.
  2. Pack a predesigned Box of Joy, shoebox, or plastic shoebox with a variety of items for a specific gender and age child. Donate $9 on the Box of Joy website.  Please use a rubber band to secure, not tape.
  3. Make a monetary donation to cover the $9 per box shipping cost to the Box of Joy website.  You can also send a check (made out to “Cross Catholic Outreach”) or cash to school in an envelope labeled “Box of Joy donation”.

Please contact Mrs. Garner if your family would like the predesigned box sent home.

Due Date: November 10th.

Please consider supporting these children who may have never received a Christmas Gift.  Many of these areas have recently been severely affected by natural disasters.  Thank you so much for your consideration, time, effort and prayers!

Please contact Sara Garner, School Counselor, if you have questions.

Catholic Stewardship Renewal

Due to printing delays beyond our control, our parish's Catholic Stewardship Renewal weekend has been pushed back to the weekend of November 18-19. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.

The challenges, pressures, and many things on our schedules in our lives today often offer little opportunity for us to stop and reflect on our spirituality, our faith life. Small faith-sharing groups give us the time, the space, and the direction to reflect on our relationship with God and others; to reflect on how, through our time, talents and treasure, we can have an incredible impact in the lives of others and experience a life of purpose and meaning. Use the QR code or provided link, to sign up for small groups in our parish. Be sure to sign up by November 6th! If you have any questions or need help signing up, please contact the Stewardship Council at [email protected]

Living our Faith Through Service

Service is a public expression of our faith. It’s how we express our belief in God and live out Jesus’s teachings. With this month’s podcast, we conclude our four-part series with Fr. Stephen Jones about the Four Pillars of Stewardship — focusing on the concept of service.

This series is designed to help us deepen our understanding of the spirituality of stewardship as we approach the Catholic Stewardship Renewal in October.
