Ada Culinary Studio: After spending more than a decade working with Murphy Hospitality Group, Chef Adam Loo is striking out on his own with Ada Culinary Studio. Ada is a modular private dining space for pop-up dinners and culinary events. Adam and his team are dedicated to pushing the limits of creativity highlighting the bounties of PEI, and curating unique experiences for every guest. The Grab & Go will be filled with signature sandwiches, salads, soups, and sweets for those on the move. Opening at 125 Kent St. in Spring 2024.

Nominations open for DCI Annual Awards |
|
In 2005 DCI developed an awards program to recognize exemplary contributions to our city by individuals and businesses within our Business Improvement Area (BIA).
The award categories include.
o Retailer of the Year
o Business/Property Development of the year
o DCI Presidents Award.
We invite you to nominate for one or all categories. Your nomination should include a short write up about your nominee/business. Submissions must be received by February 16th.
Award Criteria
DCI Retailer of the Year Award
The business should be well established in the community. The property should have a clean, modern façade and signage. The staff should be attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable and display “Customer Service Excellence”. They should actively promote both the business and the downtown. Consideration should be given to - the number of years in business, success and growth over that time, community impact, youth mentoring, volunteering, and support for the downtown revitalization efforts.
The Criteria for the DCI Business Development of the Year Award will be judged on overall look, maintenance/renovation of property, improvement to community, inspiration to others and any other unique characteristics of the property.
This Commercial property will have undergone significant and noticeable improvement to its exterior and/or interior. Consideration is given to growth in business as depicted by increases in employment and services.
The DCI President’s Award is presented to exemplary business leader(s), an excellent example to others, who has performed in the best interests of the BIA or its goals and sees value in supporting and or investing in their community. This individual(s) may display exceptional community spirit, volunteerism, mentoring. Or to a business that has reached a milestone of being in business and has become an icon in the community.

Façade Improvement Program |
This program is designed to provide private property owners/tenants, the incentive to invest in the continued revitalization of our downtown by providing financial assistance for façade improvements to your property. The resulting benefits are increased aesthetic appeal and property value, making an important contribution to the overall revitalization of our downtown.
Under the program, successful applicants are eligible to receive 50% of cost of their façade improvement project(s) their cost (excluding HST) up to a maximum of $4,000.

Overnight Parking Restrictions in Place |
The City of Charlottetown reminds residents of the overnight on-street parking restrictions that are now in place until April 15, 2024.
The restrictions prohibit parking on all municipal roads between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Vehicles parked on municipal roads during the restricted hours may be issued a parking ticket and/or towed at the owner’s expense.
