Lee County Community Appearance Index
We are calling on the community to join forces in our annual Community Appearance Index (Litter Index).The results provide metrics that help determine the impact of litter on the quality of life in the community. They also help set goals and develop effective community improvement education programs and projects. Click here to participate.
Earth Month Recap
In line with the spirit of Earth Month, we held 25 litter cleanups including our annual Great American Cleanup and Global Youth Service Day. Volunteers removed 2,839 pounds of trash & debris from the environment. We held three beautification events planting 178 trees and cleaned the Veterans Memorial in Cape Coral. KLCB attended six outreach events educating 1,425 individuals on the importance of protecting the environment. Make every month Earth month and click here to find out how you can get involved!

Youth Advisory Council

Lee County Solid Waste will be holding Household Chemical Waste collection events on the following dates:

May 4th: 7am-11am-Cape Coral City Hall

Event Updates
Global Youth Service Day
Hurray for the volunteers who participated in our Global Youth Service Day! They cleaned the Veterans Memorial Area and pavilion at the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve. Their hard work has not gone unnoticed and is truly commendable and appreciated!
Lakes Park Tree Planting
Thank you to all of the volunteers and to the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau and Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation for their hard work at the tree planting! We are so grateful for the continued support of our community partners.
Environmental School Lessons
Our Education Specialist, Jenn Downes, recently visited Caloosa Elementary to educate the first-grade students on how to protect Mother Earth, and the importance of reducing waste and recycling. Jenn is available for your next school lesson. Email Jenn@klcb.org for details.
2023 Environmental Award
It was an honor to be recognized by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce for the 2023 Environmental Award! Everything Keep Lee County Beautiful accomplishes is because of the support from the community and the volunteers. Thank you for making our work possible!
Arbor Day Tree Planting
In collaboration with Comcast Team UP, Keep America Beautiful, and the City of Cape Coral, volunteers planted 138 trees at Joe Coviello Park! Thank you to the volunteers and all who made it happen! Shout out to Future Forestry for donating some shovels, Natives of Corkscrew Nursery, Florida Forest Service, and Bubba's Roadhouse & Saloon for the yummy food! We are excited to witness the growth of the trees over the years!
Bowling Tournament
It was a afternoon of fun at our annual Bowling Tournament at Lightning Strikes Bowl! Thank you to all who participated and shout out to sponsors from Southwest Waste and Waste Pro. Congratulations to Alex for winning the Best Bowler, Ivan for Worst Bowler, and Waste Pro for the Top Lane Score!
Keep Lee County Beautiful, Inc., established in 1989, is the county’s largest volunteer-based community action and education organization. This local nonprofit forms public-private partnerships and programs that engage individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments.
