We continue to thank God for the quick action of the Union in response to the war in Ukraine. When the war began, 70% of all Ukrainian refugees to Moldova were first welcomed and helped by a Baptist church.

A Call to Pray for Ukraine from General Secretary Elijah Brown

The Bible is clear. There is not a suffering church and a non-suffering church, but we are one church in Jesus Christ. Let our hearts break anew for the families of our brothers and sisters who have needlessly died in an unjust invasion. The Baptist World Alliance joins with the All-Ukrainian Union of Associations of Evangelical Christians-Baptists in encouraging every Baptist to renew their prayers, raise their voices on behalf of those facing persecution, and live as ambassadors of just peace. In places where the weapons of war are working to dismantle the sounds of worship, may Baptists model generosity and courage and stand with those who are mistreated.

Global Christian Forum

Join us in giving thanks for the ministry of BWA Director of Integral Mission Everton Jackson who served alongside other Baptist leaders this week at the Global Christian Forum in Accra, Ghana. The event was the 4th Global Gathering as well as 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Forum. We praise God for this global work and expression of Christian unity.

WMU of Texas Annual Meeting & Missions Celebration

BWA Women Executive Director Merritt Johnston was honored to be part of the Woman's Missionary Union (WMU) of Texas Annual Meeting and Missions Celebration last weekend. She was able to pray over the WMU officers, share about the ministry of BWA Women, and to speak at the Multicultural Banquet where so many countries were represented - a beautiful reflection of the rich diversity across the state of Texas (USA). Join us in prayer for God's continued impact through WMU's missionally-minded leaders.

A Vesper Hymn

Christ our God,

sun of righteousness,

by your divine touch

you gave light to the eyes of the blind man

who had been deprived of light since birth.

Enlighten also the eyes of our souls,

and make us sons and daughters of light

so that we cry out to you in faith:

great and beyond words is your compassion towards us!

Loving Lord, glory to you!
