WHAT YOU MUST KNOW FOR COMMENCEMENT DAY


  • You must bring your parking permit (pink page from your grad packet) and place on your dash or you will not be allowed to enter the graduate parking lot.
  • Take the Troy Avenue entrance to campus. If you take another entrance you will be routed to the remote lots and will have to walk or be shuttled to the graduate staging area at Villa Bella Expeditionary School (VBE). Shuttle service does not begin until 6am. Watch this video for driving instructions.
  • You must arrive to the staging area by 6 am on Saturday, May 11th. Make sure you have your corral number, academic honors cords, any stoles or additional cords awarded, cap, tassel, and gown.
  • Do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
  • No large bags. Small wristlets, crossbody bags, hip bags, fanny packs that can fit under your regalia are allowed. You will not be able to take large bags into the stadium and will be asked to return them to your vehicle. Plan ahead and leave extra items at home.
  • Graduates will pass through metal detectors. Once at staging and once as you enter the stadium.
  • No smoking or vaping allowed.
  • Animals are not allowed in the Thunderbowl or staging area unless they are a service animal. No pets or emotional support animals.
  • Gates to stadium open at 6:30 a.m. for guests. Guests can ride with you in your vehicle and wait in the parking lot until gates open to the stadium. Seating is general admission.
  • Amenities available at grad staging include music provided by DJ TBeatz, photo booth, donuts provided by the Alumni Association, water, indoor restrooms inside Villa Bella Middle School. You may bring individual portions of outside food and non-alcoholic beverages to grad staging. No alcohol. No tailgating.


Bookstore Commencement Day Hours

The CSU Pueblo Bookstore will be open in the Occhiato Student Center from 10am-2pm on Commencement Day. The Bookstore will also have items for sale at the Thunderbowl during the ceremony.

Is your family part of the legacy of outstanding education at Colorado State University Pueblo? The CSU Pueblo Alumni Association wants to celebrate that Legacy! If your parent or grandparent attended Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo), University of Southern Colorado (USC), Southern Colorado State College (SCSC), Southern Colorado Junior College (SCJC) or Pueblo Junior College (PJC), then, in celebration of this Legacy, you are eligible to receive a Legacy Cord to wear proudly at Commencement on Saturday, May 11th.

Join us after Commencement to celebrate your achievements! Campus will be open with live music, free food, photo opportunities, and campus tours. The party starts after the ceremony at the Occhiato Student Center Patio and wraps up at 3 p.m.
