WHAT:

Crews are expected to remove falsework or temporary support structures along the east side of the SR-55 bridge over MacArthur Boulevard as part of the bridge reconstruction.

This work will require directional closures of MacArthur under the freeway as well as the northbound and southbound loop on-ramps. The off-ramps and the straight on-ramps will remain open.

WHEN:

Eastbound MacArthur will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Monday, March 4 and Tuesday, March 5.

Westbound MacArthur will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

WHAT:

Contractors are expected to remove an overhead sign structure that spans across SR-55 southbound lanes. This work will require the following closures:

• Southbound SR-55 between Dyer Road and MacArthur Boulevard
• Dyer Road East off-ramp (Dyer Road West off-ramp will remain open)
• Dyer Road on-ramp
• MacArthur Boulevard off-ramp

WHEN:

As early as 10 p.m., Friday, March 8 to 5 a.m., Saturday, March 9.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
