Dr. Deidra Stepko was recognized for being named a Pittsburgh Penguins MVP, Most Valuable Principal.
Student representatives Brady Baranowski and Sarah LaCamera provided an update on current athletics and activities.
Mr. Ohliger gave an update on Pathfinder School including some recent activities at the school.
Mrs. Trainor, the representative for Allegheny Intermediate Unit 3, provided an update. The AIU recently had a successful audit.
Mr. Choura gave an update about Parkway West CTC, including a recent career day for local 8th-grade students, which 1,600 attended.
Mrs. Connolly provided a budget update. She stated that the District is facing a $3.4 million deficit and is working to find ways to balance the budget, including an early retirement incentive for CVFT. The District is also not getting additional assistance from the state since we have yet to reach our tax ceiling.

A foreign exchange student will be joining CV from Italy for the 24-25 school year.

The 2/27 Human Resources report was approved.
The Board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Johannah Vanatta.
Board President Dr. Darren Mariano made the following statement after the vote: On behalf of the Chartiers Valley School District community, I want to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Johannah Vanatta for her dedicated service as our Superintendent. Her good work did not go unnoticed and we are grateful for her leadership and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Going forward, Mrs. Julie Franczyk, our Assistant Superintendent, will direct Education, while Mrs. Patricia Connolly, our Director of Finance and Operations, will concentrate on all other aspects of the school district. We hope this will help with transitioning as the board decides on how best to proceed regarding searching for a new superintendent.

The next workshop school board meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. at Parkway West CTC 7101 Steubenville Pike, Oakdale, PA 15071.
