TECH HUBS NENY Receives Federal Tech Hub Designation

On Oct. 23, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and Biden-Harris Administration announced NENY was among the 31 federally designated Tech Hubs in the inaugural program. NENY is now eligible to apply for phase two implementation funding between $40–70 million.

BENCHMARK M. Stan Whittingham Receives Benchmark's Lifetime Achievement Award

In addition to receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at Benchmark Week 2023 himself, Whittingham presented another Lifetime Achievement Award to former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Whittingham was also featured as a speaker on the future of batteries.

NEWS RIT Battery Prototyping Center Awarded Expansion Grant

RIT's Battery Prototyping Center (BPC) was recently awarded $2.2 million through Empire State Development's (ESD) Grants Program for upgrades and expansion. The funding will double their current space and allow for new equipment, enabling their team to increase training capacity.

REGISTER NENY Seminar at RIT Battery Prototyping Center

Registration is now open for two sessions of the NENY Li-ion Manufacturing Seminar hosted by RIT at their Battery Prototyping Center. The two-day seminar includes lectures and hands-on training. Upcoming seminars will be Jan. 10–11, 2024 and May 30–31, 2024. Participation is limited and free of charge.

AWARDS Two NENY-Supported Companies Receive FuzeHub Manufacturing Grants

NENY-supported companies LiBAMA Power Corporation and Dynami Battery Corp. recently received $50,000 each as part of FuzeHub's 2023 Manufacturing Grants. The funding will allow both companies to continue advancing their individual technologies to scale and bring closer to market.
