Grateful…
As I walk around this Thanksgiving morning, tending to some of the ranch animals and thinking about this past year, that is quickly coming to an end, I think about all the things I am truly grateful for…
I am grateful for the Big Sky staff, who works tirelessly, seven days a week, to care for animals that would otherwise not have a chance.
I am grateful for the team working today, on a holiday, to ensure the more than 100 animals at the ranch are cared for, those sick and injured in our clinic and hospital are getting the critical care they need, and all the cats and kittens at our adoption center, waiting patiently on a home of their own, are not missing a Thanksgiving meal, or a reassuring snuggle.
I am grateful for you, our community, our supporters, our friends, for making it possible for us to provide care to these animals. You have helped make a dream of making Louisiana a better place for animals, reality, as we strive every day to follow through on this promise.
I am grateful for all the animals who have touched my life and given me the opportunity to feel compassion and unconditional love at a level I never imagined possible.
Today, and every day, I am most grateful!
It is so easy to get caught up in the daily challenges and heartbreaks that come with animal welfare, that often we forget to celebrate successes, and remember all the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Today is a reminder to me, that gratitude is more powerful than any of the negativity we encounter as we navigate our way through the darkness we are presented with daily on this journey. It is my hope that we can all remember this, not just today, but all days. It is with gratitude, compassion and kindness… to each other, and to the earth and all creatures that inhabit it, that we will find peace.
With much gratitude, love and light… Catherine
