FREE MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS

The Minnesota Legislature passed a new statute that all schools must provide free menstrual products in bathrooms for students grades 4 through 12. Normandale will have a free dispenser installed in the grades 3-5 girls' bathroom over the winter break. We encourage all parents to talk with their children about the natural body changes that occur in every child and how they can use these free menstrual products, if needed.

INTERN INTROS

CLARISSE PELLERAY

First Grade – Coen-Pesch

I come from a small town called Mortagne-au-Perche in Normandy. It has been really nice to grow up there, we can do everything on foot and it is mostly old stone houses. I am the last one of my family, I have a big sister named Anne who works in Singapore. My mother is a nurse and my father a monitor. I have grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, some are living in a different region called Bretagne. The landscape is really nice out there and close to the sea. In my free time, I like to go for a walk with my dog and enjoy exercising and swimming. I also like doing activities with friends and visiting new places to discover new cultures and people.

Favorite Foods: I love trying new foods, especially in foreign countries! I prefer the sweet ones like desserts with chocolate, my mother does a chocolate mousse and it is really good. She's from Bretagne, a region known for crepes and buckwheat pancakes. So, some times for dinner she makes dessert crepes with chocolate, sugar, caramel, butter and a hot chocolate.

In The US: I would like to learn more about your culture and the people living here. I would love to visit some famous cities but also to discover places we talk less about. I really excited about being part of this program and participating in the school and family life for the next nine months. I look forward to meeting all of you and to learn new things for this upcoming year. I think it will be a rich experience for all.
