The concrete barrier on the SR-55 bridge over Dyer Road is being demolished to accommodate freeway improvements. This work is expected to continue through the end of December.

The following nighttime closures are scheduled from Friday, Dec. 20 through Friday, Dec. 27 between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will be no closures on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. 



• Eastbound and westbound Dyer under the freeway 
• Northbound SR-55 Dyer loop on-ramp
• Two outside lanes in both directions of the freeway at Dyer

The northbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard on-ramp has reopened after an extended closure to reconstruct the ramp. During the extended closure, crews installed new electrical and drainage systems along the ramp, performed roadway excavation, as well as placed asphalt and concrete.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
