Register now for our second, Virtual Global Health Week, October 30 to November 3, 2023. We are fully booked with 20 excellent, online workshops that will address an array of global health challenges. We created this week so that colleagues around the world can participate in our activities. Sessions are free and are open to all. REGISTER BELOW!

APPLY FOR THE CUGH-HOLOGIC GLOBAL WOMEN'S HEALTH GRANT
CUGH, in collaboration with Hologic Inc., has launched the CUGH-Hologic Global Women’s Health Index Grant Program. Only CUGH institutional or AFREhealth members may apply. This grant will support research activities or programs that improve women’s health. Applicants are encouraged to frame their application and use the Hologic Global Women’s Health Index (HGWHI).
Up to 4 awards of $10,000 USD will be granted. To learn more about the program objectives, funding restrictions, eligibility, and application requirements, please visit the request for proposals.
Applications are due October 30th, 2023 using this form.

NEW CUGH INITIATIVE: GLOBAL HEALTH EDUCATORS COMMUNITY (GHECo)
GHECo (“gecko”), the new CUGH Global Health Educators Community, has officially launched! Professors and other educators who teach global health courses, design curricula, and experiential learning activities for nonclinical undergraduate and graduate programs, and/or oversee baccalaureate majors and minors, academic master’s degrees, and research-based doctoral degrees are welcome to become active members of GHECo. CUGH membership is not required.
GHECo hosts monthly Virtual Teachers’ Lounges (VTLs) – online discussion groups

MEDICINE FOR A CHANGING PLANET
Announcing the launch of Medicine for a Changing Planet: a collection of clinical case studies supporting health professionals in providing effective care for patients on a changing planet. This project, a collaboration between the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health and the University of Washington, helps health professionals recognize and treat a variety of health challenges impacted by environmental stressors – spanning infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, malnutrition, heat stress, physical trauma, mental health concerns, and more. UW GLOBAL AND RURAL HEALTH FELLOWSHIP ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The University of Washington Global and Rural Health Fellowship is now accepting applications through October 31 for Internal Medicine and Medicine-Pediatrics physicians who are interested in becoming leaders and experts in the fields of global and rural health. This Global and Rural Health Fellowship is a two-year training program where fellows spend one year living and working with Native populations in Alaska and South Dakota and one year working abroad on medical education and/or research projects with University of Washington faculty and mentors.
