Last minute gift ideas that say

I love you!

Still wondering what to get family and friends for Christmas? Nothing says “I care about you” more than emergency preparedness supplies. Seriously, and it’s cheaper than jewelry!

Not sure what to get? Check out Amazon, Ready America, Home Depot, Costco, American Red Cross, for ready-to-go kits and supplies. Above is one example of a good “deluxe” 2-person kit offered for around $80 by several stores and available before Christmas. Or give individual items such as like good flashlights, crank radios, first aid kits, multi-purpose utility knives as gifts or stocking stuffers.

Check out the list of recommended supplies in CERT’s Naples Island Preparedness Guide, delivered to all households in October and available on the NIA website, for more ideas on gifts for the people you love (or even just like a little).

Note from Cindy Bambam (NIA Seawall Restoration Committee Chair):

There have been some questions. A recent Press Telegram article referred to Tidelands funds being used to support immediate repairs to the Convention Center. These funds are to be a loan to be repaid by a bond. Here is the link to the approved City report and request.
