Save the Date: Spring Bulky-Item Cleanup Day | | |

Mark your calendars for the annual Spring Bulky-Item Curbside Cleanup event on Saturday, May 11th. Once again, the City has partnered with EDCO to provide residents with the opportunity to dispose of trash, green waste, and up to four bulky items that cannot fit inside regular collection carts. These items can include broken appliances, water heaters, furniture, old mattresses, and other bulky household clutter. Starting April 29th, residents can register for this curbside pick-up event by calling (858) 350-8544. Remember to place all items curbside by 7:00 AM on Saturday, May 11th for collection. | |

County to Conduct First Mosquito-fighting
Larvicide Drop of 2024 Next Week

The County is gearing up for its first routine aerial larvicide drop of the year, scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th and Thursday, April 25th. Fifty-two local waterways will undergo treatment to curb mosquito populations and reduce the risk of diseases like West Nile virus. From April through October, the County will use helicopters to drop solid, granular larvicide on hard-to-reach areas such as rivers, streams, and ponds. This larvicide poses no threat to humans or pets but effectively eliminates mosquito larvae before they mature into biting insects. In addition to aerial efforts, Vector Control officials urge residents to eliminate standing water around their homes to prevent mosquito breeding. | |
