2x4 Messages of Hope

Our local community is filled with Habitat volunteers, donors, and families working side by side to uplift one Habitat partner family at a time.

Recently, we met up with Angela, her family, and her partner support advocate to share the messages of hope sent by donors in our Habitat community. Messages ranged from simple exclamations of "Welcome Home" to shared stories of struggle and resiliency.

Transferring the messages to the framing of Angela's home helped further cement the fact that she is supported in her journey. The efforts it takes to get one family to the Habitat finish line is tremendous. Your messages were inspiring, uplifting, and heartfelt. Thank you for your support of this important mission to build safe, decent, and affordable housing in our community. Your time, donations, and efforts allow us to keep building, we could not do this work without you. Thank you.

Huge thanks and gratitude to our amazing Nevada County Habitat build team!

The next phases of building are underway! We’ve completed the first floor, second floor, and garage wall framing. The main stairs are also in, making access much easier.

What’s coming up next: The roof trusses just arrived and scaffolding goes up this week. Stay tuned for more updates in March!

Warm Welcome to Andy Kramer, our New Board President!

"Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Not only are we able to help our homeowners by providing affordable housing, we are also building communities and creating secure futures for hundreds of children. Helping build Habitat homes provides an opportunity to have a good time while learning new skills working with some of the most generous people in our community." - Andy Kramer

Andy earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Union College in Schenectady, New York and went on to get a degree in Industrial Design from Art Center College College of Design in Los Angeles. Andy spent his career in the field of exhibition design and worked on museum projects both in the United States and abroad. READ MORE
