NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT

Home on Canterbury

Broken Into and Robbed

February 27, 2024

A neighbor on Canterbury Road just let TCNA know about what happened. This is the information that she sent us and wanted to alert you.

My home on Canterbury Road was broken into on Tuesday night, February 27 between 7-9pm. I made it easy for the thieves since I turned off all the lights in the house and didn't set the alarm when I left the house.
They threw a brick through a pane in the back door, reached in and unlocked it, entering and exiting through that door. They opened and emptied every drawer, closet, and bag. Leaving a mess but no damage other than the broken pane. They took an extra car key off the key chain in my purse, a 5-year old ipad, the Apple TV device, and a chef's knife. None of my inexpensive jewelry was taken.
They prepared an easy entry for a possible future visit by raising 2 ground level window screens and unlocking those windows from the inside.
The Baltimore police were prompt and professional. They announced themselves loudly and then searched every room and closet in the house, instructing me to "Stay by the door, maam." They Inspected the yard and checked on my neighbor's home. A Forensics expert arrived, took photos and dusted for fingerprints.
I believe I received extra attention because there was an earlier break in on Northway with the same entry details and small electronic items and valuables taken.
I would appreciate if this can be shared with the community. Maybe my misfortune can save someone else from a similar break in.
Please let TCNA know if anything happens to you so we can alert others.
