Hello First Branch!

Hello First Branch,

Spring is something else this year! We are looking forward to seeing all our students tomorrow. Tomorrow is the solar eclipse! Below are details for both campuses. There are enough glasses for all students and faculty. Wearing the glasses is critical for viewing the solar eclipse.

CPS:

CPS will attend an off-site field trip. Mr. Franske has worked with several outside professionals on the arrangements. We will notify you via Blackboard (phone, email, and text) if there is a delay. If, for some reason, those systems are impacted, we still ask for families to arrive at 4:30 pm and wait for the bus to arrive. Every student needs to be signed out prior to departing CPS. This will look similar to the Tunbridge Fair pickup. If there is someone other than the parent/guardian picking up the student, we need this in writing in advance from the student's parent/guardian.

Prek dismissal from aftercare will run like a usual day. \

TCS:

If your child plans to stay after school, please communicate this with the front office before 1pm on Monday. We know that not all permission slips were returned with two unexpected snow days. We do need a permission slip for your student to stay. No verbal permission slips will be accepted. Please see the link to the permission below if you need a copy. We also have copies in the office. In addition, if your child needs care after 4pm, a family will need to formally register with One Planet.

If your child is not staying for the solar eclipse, bus routes and pickup will run as usual.

We are also open to parent helpers during the after school program. Please contact the main office if you are interested in helping.

We are Wildcats Night

Thursday, April 11th

 5:30-7:00pm

White River Valley High School

White River Valley High School invites all 7th & 8th graders and their families to a We Are Wildcats night on Thursday, April 11th from 5:30-7:00pm. Join us to learn what it means to be a Wildcat.

You will meet teachers, staff, and current students, and pizza will be provided. Highlights will include:

-tours of the school

-a student panel for Q & A

-Flexible Pathways overview

-tables for academic departments, sports, arts, and clubs

As the middle schoolers of our community begin to consider their high school options, we welcome their families to discover all the White River Valley High School has to offer.

We are here to meet you where you are. No student is alike, and therefore no school-choice process is alike. We tailor this experience to fit your family. In addition to the We are Wildcats nights, we offer many personalized ways to discover if White River Valley High School is the right fit for your student and for your family. To begin the conversation, please contact WRVHS Principal Jeff Thomas at jthomas@wrvsu.org

Join us for the next Science Fun Day on April 13 from 1:30 - 3:30 pm at the University of Vermont!

We will offer Earth Day STEM activities for Grade 3-5 youth. Participants will have an opportunity to create, build and test as they engage in a number of fun, hands-on activities.

This FREE workshop will be led by 4-H Science Ambassadors, a group of high school students who plan and organize VTeen 4-H Science Pathways Cafés throughout the school year.

To register, go to https://go.uvm.edu/scifun2

Space is limited to 30 participants.

To request language interpretation/translation assistance and/or a disability-related accommodation to participate in this program, please contact lauren.traister@uvm.edu or call 802-656-7565 by March 22, 2024 so we may assist you.
