"Sharing Christ's Love with the Greatest Number of People"

Redeemer Lutheran Church

February 16, 2024

Greetings!

We thank everyone who made our Pancake Supper such a success . . . for the Redeemer Renaissance art display and all the Renaissance children and parents who attended, for those who helped to prepare and setup, those who cooked in the kitchen, those who helped to serve, those who helped to clean up and break everything down at the end of the meal, and those who helped with the music as we buried the “Alleluias” and burned the palms from last Palm Sunday. We served about 200 people and collected a healthy donation for the ELCA Youth Gathering. Thank you!

Sunday, February 18 – First Sunday in Lent

On this First Sunday in Lent we will hear about God’s love for all of creation. Come and worship with us at 8:30 am, 9:45 am, or 11 am. This week we also need a reader and crucifer for the 8:30 am service and a reader for the 9:45 am service. Thank you to all who help assist in worship!

On Wednesday evening we will host a dinner at 6:30 pm in Fellowship Hall. All are welcome! Services will follow in our worship space starting at 7:30 pm. The format of the service will be Holden’s Evening Prayer. Diane Miller will share her reflections on Psalm 46. Please come and invite your family and friends.

Proposed Welcome Statement

If you have not already done so, please give us our feedback. Pastor Kessinger and Pastor Wullenweber wrote articles in the February newsletter that explains the purpose of the Welcome Statement and the process we have used to develop a statement that we can “live into” at Redeemer. Once you have read the proposed statement, please reach out to either of the pastors or task force members to let us know if our revisions have helped to clarify who we are and who we hope to reach. All comments will be shared with the "Building Koinonia" Task Force. Thank you!

"You are welcome here. At Redeemer, we give praise and honor to Jesus Christ who calls us to love unconditionally. We embrace the wonder of God's creation and preach a gospel of grace for all. We invite people of all races, ages, backgrounds, orientations, identities, abilities, and family configurations to come and worship with us. Come and be a part of our life and ministry."

Other Announcements

Please read over the announcements to learn more about our Lenten collections for Lutheran World Relief and the Prayer Shawl Challenge. Our Social Outreach Ministry team is asking you to share your ideas on how we can reach even more people in our community. We also have an update on the construction project.
