INSPIRATIONAL LIFE

"God is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He doesn't put the book down when we suffer; He keeps writing! --

Pastor David Johnson,

Brazos Valley Emmaus Community Spiritual Director and Pastor of New Tabor Brethren Church

Where's The Fire? - a message from Pastor David

On Wednesday, January 10, I was in College Station running errands when I received a phone call from one of our church members. "The church is burning. The church is on fire, Brother David!" What I didn't realize was God was already planning to use our circumstances to move us to other places, both physically and spiritually. Places where we see God's plan for our lives unfold.

When invited to The Walk to Emmaus, many go kicking and screaming. Like a fire, it is a disruption in their schedules and comfort. When finished they see where God is opening new doors of ministry and different ways to serve Him.

So many of us feel that we have everything figured out and are confident we are on the "backside" of God's plan for our lives, and that's when the fire rises up -- these moments where we are thrown off the tracks and seemingly shut down, and that's where victories happen. You see, while everyone comes to see your fire, they also see God do incredible things. Our community is watching how our congregation is coping with losing our building and they are seeing God deliver us from the ashes of disaster.

God is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He doesn't put the book down when we suffer; He keeps writing! When you follow Christ, your troubles are never without purpose. God has promised to be with you in your troubles, and where He is, incredible things happen! We at New Tabor Brethren will rebuild because we trust in God, our deliverer.

Trust God with your fire and see what happens!

Hullabaloo Fund Raiser - a BIG success!

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY TO OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISER!

A word from our Community Lay Director, Nick Lutz III.

A couple of very short years ago the BVEC Board and community asked God to bless the BVEC with monetary funds and I am here to share with you all that He has answered that prayer in the last two years!

Hullabaloo 2024 raised $25,835.01, and we are thankful! Praise God!

After review of all the current financial details at the March 19, 2024, Board Meeting the BVEC current financial position is good. God definitely did His part and now we will focus on other items.

Our bank account will not make this ministry successful -- it will not fill the upcoming walks, or bring more folks to our monthly gatherings, or grow our reunion groups. Now, the REAL ministry work begins!

Let's start with the upcoming walk! We are praying for and reaching out for more pilgrims.

Proverbs 11:25 - Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

Reflect on your walk experiences. How can we take the blessing received and pay it forward? Invite a Christian friend to the upcoming walk. God blesses us so that we can bless others!

Did someone you know just come to mind that is ready to experience The Walk to Emmaus for spiritual renewal and growth? Teams are prepared! We have sponsors available if needed! We would love to share Emmaus with them.

Men's Walk is April 11-14, 2024

Women's Walk is April 25-28, 2024.

Registration forms, walk details, and a refresher on who makes a good candidate for the Walk can be found on our website, bvemmaus.org.

Deadline for pilgrims to get signed up is ONE WEEK prior to the walk.
