What does a typical day at race camp look like? Not only are our athletes gaining and training skills on the mountain, but they're also building important life skills to take them into adulthood. Multiday camps give our athletes the opprotunity to manage their time, follow insturctions, take care of their equipment and practice being good teammates.
If you're curious, camps usually start with a 6am wake up, followed by dryland warm-up, breakfast, training on the mountain, lunch, video analysis, waxing and tuning, dryland again, dinner, team meetings and right to bed after some team bonding.
It sounds like a lot, but even our youngest South Series athletes handle their responsibilities with great pride. Our older athletes get to step up as mentors and guides to the younger racers. It's truly a magical thing to see.

Woodward sessions, we would like everyone to start bringing either rollerblades or ski boots for the ramps to keep the progressions building. Rollerblades tend to be the preferred method for the ramps, but they have roller skis for anyone without rollerblades. Helmets are required for ramps. Ramp training is heavily encouraged but not required and we will have a coach at trampolines for anyone wanting to focus on that.

Please keep an eye out for a Parent Q&A meeting being added to calendar soon.

Snowbasin Resort
Parking & Traffic Flow
| |
Snowbasin will use a new traffic pattern to improve speed on Saturdays and Sundays, plus over holiday periods. Watch the video for the new flow off Trappers Loop onto Snowbasin Rd.
Earl's parking lots A through E will be reserved for carpoolers with three or more people on weekends and holidays until 11am, after which they will be opened to all vehicles while availability lasts. On weekdays, Earl's Lot A will be carpooling only parking.
Starting at the roundabout, traffic will be separated into multiple lanes with express parking and priority access for carpoolers down the south end of our parking lots. Those with two or fewer people per vehicle will also receive quicker access directly into Canyon Rim or Maples Parking Lot with additional lanes added.
Upper Maples Parking Lot M will continue to be the preferred parking lot for Devo and Freeride Programs. Alpine athletes will utilize Parking Lot K again (formerly known as the Wildcat Lot,) which will require a trip down to the round about allowing for a right hand only turn into Parking Lot K on weekends and holidays. Lot K can fill up on busy days very early. Historically, arrival before 7:30am is ideal giving you time to eat breakfast leisurely in the car before heading over to the Becker Lift to meet the team.

As we approach the year end, many of our supporters are thinking about how they can give back, so we wanted you to know what is on our current wish list and provide some smart and tax-efficient ways in which you can support the charities you love, like the SSEF Snowbasin Ski Team.
Immediate Ski Team Need
Our athletes thrive when they can see their performance in action! The Snowbasin Ski Team is raising funds for updated video cameras, which allow our coaches to provide instant feedback on the hill during training and competitions. This timely video analysis is a game-changer for athlete development, helping them improve their skills and reach their full potential.
With your support, we can equip our coaches with the technology they need to drive the future success of our dedicated athletes. Help us take their training to the next level—your contribution makes a direct impact. We need you!
Smart and tax-efficient ways to support the charities you love
- Gift of Stocks or Appreciated Assets: Donating stocks or other appreciated assets, such as bonds or mutual funds, is a savvy way to support our team. Not only do you receive an immediate tax deduction for their fair market value, but you also bypass the capital gains tax that would typically apply from their sale.
- Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): If you are 70½ or older, you can donate up to $100,000 directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a qualified charity like ours without it counting as taxable income. This can lower your annual income level and possibly reduce your Medicare premiums and taxes on Social Security income.
- Grants from Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs): If you have a DAF, recommending a grant to SSEF is a seamless process. You receive an immediate tax benefit when you contribute to your DAF, and you have the flexibility to recommend grants to IRS-qualified public charities of your choice.
Each of these alternatives to cash giving provides unique tax benefits while ensuring vital support for our mission to create an environment for local youth to be able to reach their potential as athletes, students, and contributing members of the greater community.
Your support, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference and allow us to continue providing a positive and enriching experience for athletes across all programs.
The Snowbasin Ski team is made possible by SSEF (EIN 87-0441931), a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young athletes in our community. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate in winter sports and experience personal growth through teamwork, commitment, as they build meaningful relationships along the way.
