How CEPP Recognizes National Criminal Justice Month

National Criminal Justice Month lasts just 31 days, but CEPP works all year to create a world where all justice is community justice. In this newsletter, we uplift our participation at the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA)’s Winter 2024 Training Institute, the first webinar hosted by the new Community Supervision Resource Center (CSRC), a new staff member, and a free webinar being offered in April.

Learn more below.

The CSRC at APPA

CSRC team members Leilah Gilligan, Orleny Rojas, and Cynthia Mausser attended the 2024 APPA Winter Training Institute in Seattle to showcase the CSRC to the thousands of probation and parole professionals in attendance. CEPP presented alongside Pamerson O. Ifill, Commissioner of Probation at the Massachusetts Probation Service at the Massachusetts Trial Court and a member of the CSRC racial equity collaborative, and Veronica Ballard Cunningham, Executive Director of APPA and a member of the CSRC Steering Committee.

Orleny Rojas moderated a session on Holistic Responses to Intimate Partner Violence Cases: Enhancing Accountability and Survivor Safety with Rebecca Thomforde Hauser, Senior Director of Community Accountability and Engagement, Gender and Family Justice Programs at the Center for Justice Innovation, and Kristie Puckett, CEPP Gender Justice Policy Consultant.

The CSRC Hosts Its First Webinar

On March 14, the CSRC held its first webinar, where we previewed the project’s new website and moderated a discussion with community supervision experts.

Thank you to our panel of leaders—Kelly Bradford, Marcus Hodges, and Jeremiah Stromberg—for sharing their expertise on current and vital issues impacting supervision agencies.
