April 4 - Cycle Zydeco - Cycle Zydeco is a festival on wheels. This 5 day party brings cyclists from around the world come to Acadiana for a casual ride with plenty of food and music. April 5, 12, 19, 26 - Pie Bar Live - The first Friday of each month will feature local Cajun music while remaining Fridays will feature a variety of singers, songwriters as well as local legends. Pie Bar will offer a 10% discount on all menu items, every Monday, to all residents of New Iberia. April 6 - Great Southern Writer Symposium - The 2024 Great Southern Writer is Natalie Baszile. Her novel, Queen Sugar was named one of the San Francisco Chronicles' Best Books of 2014, and nominated for an NAACP Image Award, and was featured on Oprah's Book Club. The book was made into a TV series featured on the OWN network. This novel tells the story of the trials and triumphs of a novice black female sugarcane farmer finding her way in the fields of South Louisiana. Book signing will take place after presentation.
