CHARITY HIGHLIGHT

In 2023, a $20,000 contribution from the Pelican Sound Charitable Foundation provided essential appliances--refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, washers and dryers--for 10 new homes in Lee and Hendry Counties. The value of having energy efficient appliances in Habitat homes greatly affects the quality of life for families in need of safe and affordable places to live.

"Pelican Sound residents' generosity has not only assisted in the development of affordable housing, but has also enabled Habitat to complete homes with essential appliance packages. I am profoundly grateful, on behalf of families we serve, for Pelican Sound's trust in Habitat's mission to build homes, communities and hope. Together, we are not merely constructing houses; we are laying the groundwork for low-income families to forge better futures for themselves and their children."

Becky Lucas, Chief Executive Officer

Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, Inc.

PELICAN SOUND RESIDENTS: To learn more about Habitat for Humanity please attend the Sound Learnings session on Tuesday, January 23rd at 1:00pm. Registration available on the PS website.

DONOR TESTIMONIAL:

Why do you contribute to the Pelican Sound Charitable Foundation?

"The value of knowing that the money is going to charities in the SWFL community and that the individual recipient charities have been vetted by the PS Foundation's rigorous process was paramount in my decision." -Pelican Sound resident Steve Weaver
