December Mail delivery

As we approach the winter break, please note that all mail and package deliveries to campus will end on December 20, when the Watts mail depot closes for the season.

To ensure you receive any orders before the break, please plan accordingly.

As you may be aware, Canada Post’s operations have shut down during a national strike as of midnight Friday, November 15.

What You Need to Know:

  • Mail and Packages: All items sent through Canada Post, including letters, packages, and other deliveries, will experience delays.
  • Check Your Deliveries: If you are expecting a delivery, please check with the sender to confirm which carrier was used. This will help you determine if your package is affected by the strike.
  • Other Carriers: Deliveries sent through other carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, Purolator) are not impacted and will proceed as usual.

Watts Parcel Depot will remain open and continue to process all deliveries; please see our website for our hours.

Residence Conduct Corner: Smoking and Vaping

As the temperature gets colder, you may feel more reluctant to go outside to smoke or vape. We want to remind you that Queen's is a no-smoking campus, both inside all of the buildings and on the campus grounds. Smoking cigarettes, cannabis, and vaping are prohibited explicitly in the Residence Contract (See clauses 4.10.4 and 4.10.6). Smoking indoors is a fire hazard and affects everyone's health and enjoyment of residence. Covering or tampering with your smoke detector is also prohibited under the contract (clause 4.10.15d).

If you are interested in quitting, we encourage you to make an appointment with SWS to get help and check out this online resource.
