FLW Home Tour

On Thursday, November 30, from 4:00-6:00pm, our League will sponsor a tour of the FLW Bagley House in Hinsdale, rediscover the life of an early reformer through an exhibit, and socialize over small bites and refreshments. Tickets are $20. This event is open to League members and their family and friends. The Bagley House, 121 S. County Line Road, Hinsdale, is located on the east side of County Line Road. There is no parking in front of the house, but you can park on the side streets to the north and south of the house. There is a sidewalk on the east side of County Line Road to access the house. You are encouraged to carpool to this event and possibly bring a flashlight for walking down the sidewalk. RSVP by November 28. Go here to purchase tickets. Contact Peggy Kell with questions.

We regret to inform our members that Harriet Hausman, Honorary Lifetime Member of our League since 1963, lifelong worker for social justice, and longtime contributor to our local Wednesday Journal Viewpoints, has died. Private interment was held November 10. 

Her family will be hosting a joyous celebration of her life in the future, which fittingly will include finding new ways to promote social justice and secure voting rights. You can read her obituary from the Wednesday Journal here. Our condolences go out to her family.

LWV IL is hosting a Voter Service Roundtable on Saturday, December 9, 10:00-11:00am, to prepare for the 2024 election season. They'll go over the election calendar, talk more about the Illinois Voter Guide, candidate forums, our GOTV toolkit and answer questions you may have.  Any League member interested in voter service is welcome to attend. Registration is required.
