I am thrilled to share with you about an exciting additional worship opportunity we are launching next month. Starting on February 7th, we are offering a monthly worship and prayer service on the first Wednesday of the month. This service will be a chance for you to join with others in a time of musical worship and prayer, as we explore together diverse ways of praying. We will have a catered Wednesday night supper beforehand from 5:30-6:00 in our fellowship hall, where we will enjoy each other’s presence around the table, and then from 6-7, we will worship and pray together (also in the fellowship hall).

This prayer service is meant to help us as a church engage in a variety of worship and prayer styles. If you remember back to the fall and our stewardship campaign, Ted shared about how each of us has a unique worship personality. Some of us may love a good sermon; others might enjoy singing; Some of us might love the rituals of worship, like communion, and still others appreciate times of silence and solitude. This time of worship and prayer is an opportunity for you to explore different ways of praying and worshipping God. Each evening will focus around a particular theme, and we will have a variety of prayer stations connected to that them. That might be using a physical object like a rock or a cross to help you connect with God, or it might be a journalling activity or a guided scriptural meditation. And if you want to just sit and enjoy God’s presence, you can do that as our worship team plays. Our first theme for February 7th will be “The Life of Faith.”

We are a church on mission to share the heart of God from the heart of downtown Macon by fostering healing for the broken places of life, and that’s what we hope to do through this new rhythm! One of the most significant ways the church fosters healing is by helping us grow in our relationship with God. When we spend time in prayer with God, we encounter the healing love of Christ. So I really hope you will join us on February 7th for our first evening of worship and prayer!
