In a significant commitment toward fostering diversity and inclusion in San Joaquin Valley journalism, the Institute for Media and Public Trust at Fresno State was awarded a $201,000 grant to continue its visionary Journalists of Color training program. The California Endowment grant will help fortify the ongoing success of its pioneering journalism training program.

Kristina Rios (LEBSE) received a five-year, $1,249,307 grant from the U.S. Department of Education for "Project ACCESS," which is designed to increase Special Education teachers of Color and diversity to serve children with disabilities who have high intensity needs.

Tania Pacheco-Werner (CVHPI) received a $45,000 grant from Cultiva la Salud to provide health disparities training for Cultiva la Salud staff members.

William Wright (LCOE) received a three-year, $170,100 grant from the State's Department of Agriculture to provide a technical review of State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) applications.

Keith Clement (Criminology) received two separate three-year grants from the Cities of Fresno and Coalinga to provide evaluation services for the Organized Retail Theft Prevention Grant Program.

- The Gazarian Real Estate Center in the Craig School of Business at Fresno State seeks to award two Summer 2024 grants for high-quality research related to real estate and/or land use. An inorganic chemistry study under professor Masaki Uchida, four students, and three faculty co-authors was published in the Journal of Chemistry Education. The article describes a hands-on educational experiment where chemistry students use a special technique (Evans NMR) to study how various elements and their arrangements in certain chemical compounds (coordination complexes) influence their magnetic properties.
