As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closure, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

REMINDER: Beginning, today, Friday, Jan. 12 at 1 a.m. and continuing through Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 5 a.m., the Route 17 James River Bridge (JRB) will be closed while contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) perform critical maintenance work. During the full extended closure, a signed detour will be in place to direct motorists to the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel (MMMBT) as one of the primary alternate travel routes. Additional alternate routes include the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry and Route 460.

• Single lane closure on I-64 west at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Wednesday, January 17

• Alternating, single lane closures at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Multiple stoppages on I-64 east at HRBT from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Each stoppage may last up to 20 minutes.

Friday, January 19

• Single lane closure on I-64 west at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

• Single lane closure on Granby Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuesday, January 16 to Friday, January 19

• Single lane closure on Granby Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Flagging operation on Patrol Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Flagging operation at 1st View from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Single lane closure I-64 east/west at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Wednesday, January 17 to Thursday, January 18

• Single lane closure I-64 east at 1^st View to W. Bay Avenue from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, January 19

• Single lane closure I-64 east/west at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Friday, January 12 through Friday, January 19 (24 hours per day)

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through the construction zone.
