Dear Indian Hill School Families,

We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our District. As you may already be aware, we are implementing our BRAVE Character Education, initiated during the 2021-2022 school year. This initiative was part of our previous strategic plan process with an emphasis on building social and emotional skills and is connected to our current #IHPromise Strategic Plan within our focus area of Learners as the Whole Child. It is time to gain feedback from our students about this program so that we can make revisions for the remainder of this school year.

We will be asking for your child to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning within our BRAVE Character Education program via an online survey they will be completing within the school day. The survey should take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete.

The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on Positive Feelings, Challenging Feelings, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Supportive Relationships.

We are asking that all of our students participate in the surveys, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our District to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential. We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys.

If you would like more information about the surveys, you can find a sample here:

Grades 3-5 BRAVE Character Education Survey

Grades 6-12 BRAVE Character Education Survey

After reviewing this information, you may choose to remove your child from this survey opportunity by completing this form. The deadline for this form completion is Friday, March 8 at 12:00 pm.

If you have any questions about the survey, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school.

Dedicated to the success of our Braves,

Dr. Melissa Stewart, Ed.D.

Chief Academic Officer

Future City Team Tackles D.C.

Our Future City Team was in Washington DC last week at the National Competition. They enjoyed our nation's capitol while demonstrating how they'd make the world a better place. Congratulations Anya Freed, Isha Jha, and Sydney Hoalst on this remarkable accomplishment!

Car Rider Update

Hello Middle School Families,

These first weeks in our new school have been tremendous. We wanted to share some helpful information about car riders during arrival and dismissal.

  • Although we have not received a solid date on the Drake Road water main break and long-term fix, we know it will be at least two weeks, possibly more, until both lanes are restored.
  • The Rangers have advised everyone to give themselves extra time during arrival and dismissal.
  • Additionally, we are working diligently to get students in the appropriate cars and help everyone exit the lot as safely and efficiently as possible. We could use your assistance in the afternoon.
  • For those who arrive early, please pull all the way up the Middle School Gym Entrance until you reach the end of the sidewalk.
  • Additionally, pull up to the car in front of you without leaving large gaps in the line.
  • We have plenty of room to avoid backing up onto Drake Road if we use the entire car rider path.
  • Backing up onto the road stops cars from exiting and slows all transportation during dismissal.
  • Finally, if you need to sign a student out at anytime, please park in our lot and not in the car rider lane.

Thank you for your assistance as we implement new procedures.

Attendance Reminders

Parents are required to report all absences and tardies via the attendance line at 513-272-4700 before school starts each day. If your student needs to leave school early for ANY reason, send in a note to the office before school starts so he/she can get a pass that will permit the teacher to let him/her leave early. NEW: You will need to come into the office to pick up your student for early dismissal.

Reminder:  always bring a note from the doctor, dentist, etc. when returning from appointments, this will excuse the absence.

Thank you!

Important Message from Transportation

Until further notice, students will no longer be permitted to ride home on alternate busses unless absolutely necessary and preapproved by our Transportation Department. If you have questions or need further clarification, please contact a member of our Transportation Team at 513-272-4530.
