Celebrating the Success of the Purple Walk!
This month, we gathered for the Purple Walk Domestic Violence Awareness 5K, a meaningful event that brought our community together in solidarity with domestic violence survivors. With your participation and support, we not only raised $55,000 in vital funds for our Domestic Violence services but also sent a powerful message about the importance of creating a safer environment for everyone.
The turnout was incredible, with participants walking together to break the silence surrounding domestic violence. Many joined teams, secured donations, and helped spread awareness, demonstrating the collective strength of our community.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Your commitment and passion are vital as we continue our work to support those in need and foster a culture of safety and respect. Together, we are making a difference!

It is with heavy hearts that we remember Steve Zimmer, a dedicated former board member of the Child & Family Center who left an indelible mark on our organization and the many lives he touched.
Steve served on our board from 2007 to 2016, with an extended commitment until 2018. After a brief hiatus, he rejoined the board in July 2019 and continued to serve until his resignation in July 2022.
During his time with the Center, Steve held several key positions, demonstrating his unwavering commitment and leadership. He served as Vice Chair from 2010 to 2012, Chair from 2012 to 2014, and Immediate Past Chair from 2014 to 2016. His return to the board in 2019 brought him to the roles of Secretary and Treasurer, where he continued to share his wisdom and dedication.
Steve's leadership was marked by a passion for our mission and a deep commitment to our community. His contributions will continue to resonate in our work, and he will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest condolences to Steve’s wife, Doris Marie, family and loved ones during this difficult time. Let us honor his memory by carrying forward the values he cherished.

Dear Friends and Supporters,
As October unfolded, we took a moment to reflect on a month filled with meaningful moments and accomplishments.
First and foremost, we wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in our Purple Walk Domestic Violence Awareness 5K. Together, we raised an incredible $55,000 to support vital services for those affected by domestic violence. Your generosity illuminated the path for many, reminding us of the power of community and compassion.
October also marked Substance Use Prevention Month, a time we cherished to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of preventing substance use while supporting those on their recovery journeys. At Child & Family Center, we remain deeply committed to fostering open conversations about mental health and substance use, ensuring that individuals and families feel supported and empowered.
We also hosted a delightful Trick-or-Treat event for our clients, creating a safe and joyful space for families to celebrate the season together. It was a beautiful reminder of how connection and community uplift us, especially as we approached the warmth of the holiday season.
As we looked ahead to this festive time, we invited everyone to consider becoming a part of our Heart for Heroes. Your support has the power to make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve, providing essential resources and care when they need it most.
