Worthington Christian Church

Volume 17, Issue 7 | February 14, 2024

Thank you, Scott Shaw and family!

Hey Church, I hope you’re having a great week! As you probably already know, this Sunday will be Scott’s last Sunday with us as our Worship Minister and we look forward to hearing great things about where God will lead him.

This Sunday, following our 11:11 service, we’ll have a reception in Scott’s honor. Be sure to make time to stop by the Youth Center this Sunday to visit with Scott and his family and be an encouragement to them.

Meanwhile, we are working on a plan to find someone to join our team as the next Worship Minister, and we will keep you informed as that plan develops. We’re in good hands in the interim with many talented people who will help lead worship each week and continue a high standard of excellence.

Scott, we’re thankful for you and all you have done for this church. We pray that God will continue to demonstrate his power in your life through your gift of leading the church in worship. Our prayers are with you.

Hope to see you on Sunday!

Women's Email Devotional: Saved by Grace

Ladies, beginning Monday, February 26, and ending Wednesday, March 31, we will read through the book of Ephesians and then prepare our hearts for Easter by studying the last days of Jesus during Holy Week.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul shares the story of the Gospel and explains how knowing Jesus should affect our lives. Salvation is not a reward for the good we do but a gift because we trust God.

Then, on Palm Sunday, we will begin the devotions by Spoken Gospel on the last days of Jesus’s life on earth. These devotions will remind us of the cost of God’s amazing GRACE.

We will email the daily devotion (Monday through Friday) to everyone who has registered to participate. These 28 devotions will include short videos from ‘The Bible Project’ and’ Spoken Gospel.’

  • We will alternate between watching a 3-minute video and reading short sections of Ephesians. The videos will provide insight into the Scripture readings.
  • A transcript of the video will also be provided for those who prefer to read the devotions.

We pray many of you will want to connect with God each day through email, knowing there are other women who are also studying God’s Word with you!

GriefShare

Our GriefShare support group is 14-weeks long and usually meets twice a year. We are composed of a group of friendly, caring people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

Let us help you through the hurt.

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. GriefShare is a ministry designed to help you through this hurt.

GriefShare meets every Sunday from March 3 to June 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
