Valley VITA
The Valley VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program is now underway!

Do you want to help but not sure how? You’re in luck, openings are still available to volunteer as a greeter and make a difference with this needed tax program in our community. Greeters will welcome tax clients, check them in for their appointments, and most importantly...have fun! No experience is necessary.

Valley VITA is still looking for meal sponsors for the Saturdays when tax appointments are scheduled at Rosenwald Community Center, Waynesboro. We’re asking for lunch to be provided for 10 volunteers, delivered to Rosenwald between 12:00 - 1:00pm on the dates listed in sign up.

National ALICE Summit
Kristi joined other ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) champions from across the country, during the sold out National ALICE Summit in New Orleans, on January 29-31. It was a jampacked few days where participants learned how ALICE has shaped the strategies for change and heard from influential champions for ALICE. Some of the highlights are pictured below!
Kristi is super excited to have been able to attend this summit on behalf of UWSAW and our community!
Tiki Barber was the emcee during the summit. He shared how he became involved with ALICE and what it meant to him.
One of the many highlights during the National ALICE Summit for Kristi was meeting Tiki. She even had an opportunity to take a selfie with him!
The summit offered many opportunities for networking and Kristi ran into George Bell, President & CEO of Capital Area United Way in Baton Rouge. Kristi and George met virtually while completing their Executive Leadership training through United Way Worldwide in 2021.
