Our ministry has an obstetrical surgical team on the ground this week in Guatemala, serving women in need. Many times during our primary care clinics in Guatemala, our doctors and nurses treat female patients with serious conditions that require surgery, but sadly, the means to perform these surgeries are often lacking for these women and their families. Oftentimes, we meet women in our clinics who have suffered with serious bleeding disorders and cysts for more than 10 years! By God's grace, we have developed a wonderful partnership with female ministry leaders at our church partners and with a beautiful clinic outside of Guatemala City, enabling Caring Partners to provide these dear ladies with desperately needed surgeries.

But sometimes God changes our own expectations of our ministry's purpose! CPI Surgical Team Leader Rick Lalli sent this text to our office yesterday:

"God works in wonderful ways! Today, our team arrived to the clinic to an emergency c-section. The clinic was waiting for a Guatemalan anesthesiologist to arrive who was having trouble getting to the clinic.

Our team quickly assessed, and Thad, our anesthesiologist, administered the necessary medication to prepare the surgeons for the c-section. In addition, the clinic's current Bovie machine was not working, so surgical nurse Heidi quickly set up the Bovie machine just donated by CPI to ensure a safe delivery. With the CPI team available, and the necessary equipment up and running, Fatima was born! Mom and baby girl are resting and healthy. Thank God for the CPI surgical team, and their quick response and willingness to serve, in Jesus' Name!"

Rhonda Reed, Executive Director, often shares ministry stories with ladies groups. Staff & Board Member Rick Lalli has developed many volunteer projects which he presents to local companies, providing them with an opportunity to serve. Stefanie Schumacher, RN, works full-time at a local hospital, yet also is a CPI staff member. She enjoys sharing her passion to serve with college students and young professionals.

Prayers & Praises

Continue to pray for CPI's Surgical Mission team serving in Guatemala. Several surgery days remain as the team continues its work until September 19th. Pray for the Lord to continue to make miracles happen in Guatemala!

Thank you so much for praying for our Thailand eyeglass ministry! The Lord provided for our needs in a miraculous way. Last year, during our CPI clinic in Thailand, an elderly woman came to the clinic with some serious health problems. Praise God, our medical team was able to minister to her, and our church partner presented the Gospel, and she came to know Jesus, and has been attending church ever since. Her family was so grateful to Pastor Jay and his Thai church for providing for their mother's needs. Well, when our eyeglasses were stuck in Thailand in customs last month, guess who reached out to Pastor Jay to remedy the problem? The woman's son, who has been working in Thai customs for more than 20 years! We praise God for how He opens doors for Caring Partners, and He faithfully provides in ways greater than we can even ask or think! Ephesians 3:20
